The Ambos Mundos, built in the beginnings of the 20th century, is an Eclectic-style hotel with five stories, erected in the site where once stood an ancestral home. It became worldly famous after being the first lodging in Cuba for the notorious American author Ernest Hemingway, who dwelt there almost permanently from 1932 to 1939. His room has been preserved as he left it, and is displayed as a little museum.
